2007 BrewFest and Other Hawaii Photos
Mar 13th, 2007 by SGuttman1
Here’s a photo album of our past few weeks here in K-Bay. One of the main reasons we came this time of year is to attend the annual BrewFest, put on by the Kona Brewery in conjunction with the Bill Healy Foundation. The money raised at this fun fun event, goes to multiple charities and causes.
Below are some of our shots, but to get a real feel for great photography and the event in general go to our friend and fabulous photo guy Pete Orlep’s site: http://konaboy.smugmug.com/Events there are several sections to see, check them all out. Pete is pictured in the first picture above.
The main attraction of the Brewfest (besides the beer) is the Trash Fashion Show. All the outfits are made from 100% recycled materials. Ami was the bag lady and was ready to spend, spend, spend!!
I’m sorry there is no photo of Suzy as she was equally beautiful and creative with her outfit made of packaging material and she was the true “Material Girl”. See Pete’s photos!!
David and Ami Bever, enjoying a nice moment.
Jack and Bill (Babcock - who flew in for the day from Maui) sharing a moment!
Ami and Blake
Our New Deck and Landscaping being completed, we combined the inaugeration with David’s Birthday Celebration.
Cameron getting into the moment…
David and Suzanne
Our next door neighbors Ron and Karen
Dinner at Jackie Ray’s - Thank you Lesley and John for the gift certificate… a great meal with great company!
Rather than complain about the garbage that piles up on a stretch of road we regularly run on in the mornings, several of us volunteered our time one day to clean up the 3 mile stretch.
Geez, can’t they just take this stuff to the dump that’s less than a mile away? …and it’s free…
Almost every night just prior to sunset many of us in the village meet on the “point” - a rocky coastal section just West of Manini Beach about a block away from the Love Shack. I call it our “Hawaiian Cocktail Hour” complete with a fantastic sunset, stories about what transpired during another fantastic Kona day and sometimes a whale sighting or two. Cousin Cameron, friend and neighbor David and Jack are regulars.
Until we’re back at our favorite piece of the world… aloha nui loa!
